New Season: League of Champions
Location: Play leaves Kiwanis Park and returns to Dawson Field, located on Warner & Hardy just east of I-10. You can't miss it with all the bright lights on the north side of the road. If you can't find it, just head to Half Moon Sports Grill at Elliot & Kyrene and we'll meet up with you after the game.
Fresh Faces: Ted replaces Tim, who is having thumb surgery. Melissa replaces AM, who is moving to Florida. Casie will make her debut as a sub in Week 2. I'm also searching hard for someone to don a large beer pitcher costume with arms as our mascot.
Unfamiliar Teams: GT Bombers went 7-0 last season in D-League. Not much is known about Churchills Bubbles N Squeak, Arizona Devils nor Massage Envy, but I'm sure we'll ground, pop, douse and buff all four of 'em.
Time-Tested Teams: Rematches with Final Round Ram Rod and The Band-Aids highlight our schedule. We will also face Plan B by Atomic Pools for the first time in a real game, not a Daley scrimmage from seasons past. The only team from our past seasons that would truly initimidate me would be a mirror team of ourselves.
Same Ol' Attitude: Patience at the plate taking a first pitch, good basecoaching/running, hitting cutoffs, avoiding throws allowing baserunners to advance, having fun and emptying pitchers!

Band-Aid Scrimmage Roundup Sept 3rd - Band-Aids did a great job bringing music and cupcakes for us. Short a few players, we loaned 'em a ringer and all got plenty of at-bats and positions played. Like youth sports of today, there were no losers... |
On Deck Final Round RamRod0-0 9pm AWOL: Jami (no sub), Ted? Last season, the RamRods opened an 8-1 lead thanks to Jamie's booted grounders at SS. This time, EP will feature its strongest lineup yet. Ted, who made his EP sub debut against FRRR, makes his fulltime debut against FRRR. Ted was instrumental to our 15-9 comeback win. Scott tossed curveballs to the FRRR ringers. EP played fundemental ball holding runners by not forcing plays which allowed runners to advance. Defensively, FRRR plays solid D so it'll be shots over the infield that carry us to victory. The leftside of their infield has some former college ballplayers so best to minimize their opportunities. Lastly, and most importantly, this'll be Anne-Marie's last game before she moves to Florida. Let's send her out a winner with a full belly of hotdogs and soda! Pregame Party - Dogs & sodas at 8pm at the concession stands with Anne-Marie. There are no batting cages here so we'll watch Churchills swap errors with Massage Envy whilest we eat light chow. Should be a perfect weather (written without checking a single weather report). |

Anne Marie will be missed on and off the field. Anne Marie will be missed on and off the field. Anne Marie will be missed on and off the field. Other than Scott's leadoff HR, we won with small ball and errors by their team. Pregame swings and a firm batters box allowed the O to shift into cruise control. Or was it magic via Anne Marie? Anne Marie will be missed on and off the field. After two matchups we now know FRRR to be a competitive and spirited team. A couple of their guys and girls can mash. However, aside from one attempt, their righties and lefties avoided RF all night. Anne Marie will be missed on and off the field. Without mentioning Anne Marie will be missed on and off the field this paragraph, EP scored seven runs in the 1st with the potential for more had Jamie not thought AM's magic would get her home safely, especially with Scott fresh off a homer coming to bat with bases loaded. It wasn't until EP had a double-digit lead that FRRR strung, weaved and knitted together good hits. However, our strength - the lord of softball: defense - flexed its muscle, mind and might to unravel any stitchings of a meaningful rally sweater. Notables: 3 dogs in the dugout; dogs before the game; Melissa made her EP debut, went 2 for 3 and covered 1B for Jami; the team presented Anne Marie with a signed ball for her mantle in Florida (see pics below); Anne Marie will be missed on and off the field Gone/Subs: Jami (DNP - no sub) |

On Deck GT Bombers (15/4)0-0 9pm AWOL: Jessica (Casie), Ruthie (Shannon), Jami (no sub), Andrew (no sub) Casie makes an EP debut while the Gattuso's tour Spain and Ruthie presents her case to our country's Supreme Court. Little's known about GT Bombers except they went 7-0 in their D division last season. Since their opponent last week, Arizona Devils, is also foreign to us, advanced scouting and breakdown of any data will not lead to victory dances and/or jigs. Hence, we will rely on patience and execution to warrant victory moves worthy of an award on Soul Train. GT Get Down - Warm up throwing and swinging at 8:30pm. Game Recap: Jami Juggles RF for AM
Sept 7th,'08 - 5 innings: GT Bombers 21, Empty Pitchers 10 Team manager emailed league director, Richard King, informing him the Bombers belong in the next division up. The team's worst hitter was able to crack a double late in the game to save himself from team ridicule (they were a noisy bunch within themselves but didn't put much effort in to engage us). In the first inning, after Scott scored the only run, Jamie tested the 1B's arm on a 6-3 fielder's choice running from 2B to 3B. She gunned the ball in time for the tag getting the 3rd out and double play, which could have been avoided if Jamie was tough enough to slide. GT was solid in all 10 spots on the field. Their pitcher threw low strikes on most pitches. We had a couple ok innings at the plate but the lack of errors by GT kept rallies to a minimum. Defensively, Scott fielded not dodged lasers up the middle. Casie did a fine job in her debut working 2B, though Melissa got little work at 1B since few grounders were playable for the left side of the infield. Jami did a great job in RF as she rehabs away from 1B, but the rest of the OF may choose to forget this game. If an OF were determined/stuck remembering something, let it be the solid relay throws all night. Keith's Unsensitive Spin:: "Not too much to say about it, except that when the EPs get mercy-ruled, we're not playing a D-league team!" Notables: Courtney was tough enough to slide in for a double; Gone/Subs: Andrew (none), Jessica (Casie), Ruthie (none) |

She experienced minor discomfort batting but t'was expected. From the Autobahn Sept 16th - Shannon suffered no injuries, her vehicle only slight damage on the way to the game. It's unsure how much her presence would have slowed the GT Bombers. If only she had crashed into one of their players on the way to the game. |
On Deck Arizona Devils ( +5 )1-1 7pm AWOL: Sarah (Casie) After two weeks, both EP and AzD have played GTB. They lost 15-4, we lost 21-10. Both teams gave up 11 runs in their other game and both scored 18+ runs. This should be a good matchup. Watching AzD play Plan B before our game, they got in good grooves and took advantage of mistakes in the outfield to sustain innings. Paraphrasing one of our players, last week's game was really needed practice for our outfield. Our outfield doesn't get as much play as our infield, so think of it as a learning experience to gain good tidbits for future games, such as this week. Lauren says our opponent the following week, Churchill's, is "easy-peasy" so let's pterodactyl claw out a win this week to position ourselves for a 3-1 start. Down and Devil Dirty - Warmup at 6:30pm. Quick bite and a drink after the game? |

Game Recap: Rightous Rally to Dump Devils
Sept 21st,'08 - 5 innings: Empty Pitchers 12, Arizona Devils 11 Andrew and Jessica arrived at Tempe Sports Complex and with grande grins said "Es bueno estar columpiando en béisbol otra vez!" That means it's good to be swinging at softballs again. AZ Devils feature a quick pitching machine with good control. Their SS has good range with a strong yet not always accurate arm. Just ask Melissa's leg. Offensively, a couple of their girls have pull and a couple guys have power to drive the ball. But their men spent the night popping the ball up shallow enough for our infield to record outs. Both teams took advantage of infield errors for the first four innings but neither team created much separation because neither team could hit the OF gaps. The winning rally in the bottom of the 5th-inning featured nothing but singles and errors. The first five batters: Andrew, Courtney, Jamie, Melissa and Ted all scored. When Ryan, hitless for the the night, approached the plate, EP had a runner on 3B with 2 outs. Ryan worked the pitcher for the perfect pitch and crushed it hard down the 3rd base line. Aside from the Band-Aids, it appears the Empty Pitchers have faced the top teams in the division and come away 2-1. Everyone on the team should be happy (but not more than happy because psychologically that sounds unhealthy) and use the next few games to tune itself for a strong playoff run. Notables: The team recorded it's first 6-4-3 double play with Andrew, Melissa and Jami making the turn; one fan and one dog in the stands; Jamie has reached base safely in every at-bat this season, though he was aided this game by two errors at 2B; Keith's new glove scared the ball from coming anywhere close to RC on the fly; PLAY OF THE GAME: In a game featuring double-plays and game-winnng hits, Andrew's deep snare at short and long throw to 1B in-time was one of his finest; the team is 2-0 when Jamie eats a $5 jumbo dog combo from the concession stand before games. Gone/Subs: None |

Cytec is 3-0 and Rounders 2-1 at Kiwanis' SE field. Mark your calendars Sept 22nd - On Oct 12th at 6pm we play Plan B, our friends from numerous Daley scrimmages. Their manager, Lee, asked us last night if we'd like to all get drinks after the game. On Oct 19th, The Band-Aids would like to play a "theme" game with us. Lauren is thinking a prom theme with prom music thoughout. It may cost ~$10 at a thrift store for a funny outfit but it'll likely be worth the $10 for the lifetime memory... because we likely won't remember any other games when we're sitting on a rocker at age 85. From the ER Sept 22nd - Jami experienced no pain in her thumb while Melissa took a throw from SS into her calf as she reached 1st safely. |
On Deck Churchills Bubbles n Squeek ( 9/12 )1-2 7pm AWOL: Sarah (Casie) Churchill’s is a full service restaurant and bar situated in Chandler, Arizona. Excellent food, good pints of beer and a friendly, atmosphere in the great British pub tradition. Churchill’s is broadcasting all the live sport from Setanta sports channel! Watch the 6 Nations, England Home matches (including the Wallabies & All Blacks), the English Premiership, Gaelic Football matches, Scottish Premier League, Serie A, GAA, FA Cup, English Super League, Celtic League Rugby & much more. Oh yes, they have a softball team. Churchills unloaded 15 runs on Massage Envy in their first game but have since dropped only 6 and 7 runs against the RamRods and BandAids respectively. Now that both our outfield and infield have each had a game to shake out rust, a clean game should burst their bubbles and end their horrid squeeking. Modern glove - gets me to the church on time - Warmup at 6:30pm. Jamie will eat a jumbo dog combo before the game loaded with tomatoes and jalepenos from the condiment tray. |

Game Recap: Rally Revision 2.0
Sept 28th,'08 - 6 innings: Empty Pitchers 17, Churchills Bubbles n Squeek 16 Up comfortably in the 5th inning 14-7, the softball gods shook the earth every time an EP player reached for the ball. Had the Empty Pitchers not pleased enough the softball gods last week by beating the Devils? Was the margin of victory too small? Up until the 5th, EP played its usual steady defense, getting outs when there were opportunities and preventing baserunners from advancing by holding throws, sometimes too cautiously when Jamie is relaying at SS for an inning - he gets a little overwhelmed with the catching and the spinning and the noises and the bright colors. The gods did bless a new stick. Jami's Miken Nemesis arrived at the park without a scratch (read the lab report here). Would only 20 practice pop-ups break it in? Or would the offense be diminished by using it too soon? Jamie, afraid to hit anywhere near the rightfielder who snared Scott's rocket, zoned in on a CF gap and sent a laser for a first-pitch single. Four batters later with the second ever swing, Keith absolutely crushed a homer down the RF line. After Keith crossed homeplate, Jami picked up the Nemesis and collected her first hit with it. The bat went 7-9 this night. Next time we face them, we'll need to remember: #88, their catcher loves to grab and hand us our bats because the team has little faith throwing to her and it's her only action; their female at 3B is their best infielder; their pitcher is decent; they got only one ball past our OF; their SS has good range but a wild arm; overall this team has potential but they seem to doom themselves. Back to the recap: A seven-run 2nd inning, mostly with 2 outs, gave us a nice cushion to absorb their seven-run gift in the 5th. In extra innings with a runner starting at 2B, EP held them to two runs. Scott started the bottom of the 6th driving in Theresa from 2B. After Jessica was robbed of a hit, Andrew (now the winning run) reached 3B. Courtney perfectly put the ball on the ground towards 2B and Andrew made it in. Stormy Waters wrote on the back of his dog discipline certifiate the words "game over". Notables: Scott pitched on no-sleep and 12 hrs of driving; Courtney got her 1st catch of the season; Theresa made a great catch in foul territory; the 1-6-3 inning-ending out in the 4th; Andrew didn't reach base for the first time this season; Jamie has reached base 13 straight at-bats; Courtney has 6 straight hits; Ryan continues to steadily get basehits; Jessica made her first OF appearances in RF and LF; Casie has played with the most gloves in EP history. Gone/Subs: Ruthie (Theresa); Sarah (Casie) |

The team was 2-0 when concession items were purchased. If you can take 34" Sept 29th - Jami b(r)ought a Miken Nemesis. Learn more about this bat. Brand new when it arrived, about 20 practice pop-ups were hit to break it in. Would it be enough? Jami says: I'm very happy with it and expect continued high performance as it is broken in. Keith says: Ohhhhhhhhh! Haha! I really like the new bat. It's got lots of pop, and it's lightweight, super-vacu-formed aluminum, and it looks pretty. |
On Deck 6pm: Band-Aids @ AZ Devils 7pm: Churchills @ Bombers 9pm: Plan B @ FR RamRod Massage Envy ( 6/15 )1-2 8pm - Away AWOL: Sarah, Ted After Massage Envy finishes their first inning in the field, just remember: not all of them likely washed their hands. Have those players just handled the softball? By softball, I mean the one the blues toss into play. Did I need to call 'em blues and not umps? I wasn't trying to be dirty. If we can play defense like we did the first four innings last week, this game shouldn't be difficult. We'll practice at 5pm next week before our 6pm game vs Plan B. As Andrew spins it: "As long as we don't pop up or strike out, we challenge the other team to make plays. That's how errors occur and we score more runs." If anybody needs a good massage therapist who is not just buff n' fluff, Jamie recommends Carol Segelke at 602-330-7636. She is in downtown Gilbert and is a medical masseuse. She is excellent at removing knots. Getting touchy / feely - Warmup at 7:30pm. It's highly unlikely we'll be getting free rubdowns before or after the game. Same goes for food and drinks. Food and drinks next week after our 6pm game with Plan B. |

Game Recap: Massage Empty
Oct 5th,'08 - 7 innings: Empty Pitchers 15, Massage Envy 1 Not often can a team play three subs and hold an opponent under 10 runs. Kyle and Annette made their EP debuts and kept every ball in front of them. As a whole, the team made smart relays and controlled throws to prevent extra bases. Subbing at catcher, Casie made two great catches in foul territory on ~175 foot popups. Massage Envy couldn't work the knots out of their offense. Their men batted both sides of the OF but lacked the power to dangerously pound the ball. Most of their girls lacked smooth swings, allowing the left side of the infield to play in and Scott to scramble under several short popups. The result: more stress on their defense. The Empty Pitchers showed their best patience at the plate this season, often taking a first pitch. Courtney couldn't get a good pitch and hence set a team record with 3 walks. Aside from Scott's losing battle to Envy's 2B, the team swung the bat well. Andrew nearly had a 2nd homerun (great headfirst dive back to third to dodge the rundown) and Jamie extended his on-base streak to 17 at-bats - JINX! Massage Envy won't ever rub the opponent the wrong way, as they continue to tilt the league balance of team personalities towards "fun and friendly" and worth looking forward to playing again. Their two pitchers toss vanilla pitches, their outfield is capable of hauling in long balls while the leftside of their infield can be rated as good for future reference. Questions regarding 2B should be directed towards Scott. Andrew pointed out with this win and losses by AZ Devils and FinalRound RamRod, we are assured at least a 3rd place finish since we own tiebreakers against both teams via head-to-head wins. Unless the illegal-batless-Bombers stumble vs FR RamRod this weekend, they'll have 1st place wrapped up with their regular season finale vs Massage Envy . Notables: Andrew, nursing a sore shoulder played 5 innings in LC; both he and Keith had nice grabs in the OF; Jamie has scored on 6 of his last 7 at-bats without a triple or HR - all attributable to uber-consistent middle-of-the-order batting from Jami, Keith, Melissa, Ryan and Ted; Jami's Nemesis had an impressive sophmore game; EP played it's first 7-inning game. Gone/Subs: Sarah (Casie); Ted (Kyle); Melissa (Annette) |

After dropping their first four games and getting behind early against FR RamRod, Plan B busted out a gutty 15 run performance for their first victory. Their guys, such as Lee and Isaac, have plenty of experience and danger in their bats. Unfortunately, they lost most of their females due to pregnancies and have all new girls. Only Courtney provides real pop at the plate. Plan B's pitcher, Kory, is tall, lanky, accurate and talkative. Scouting hasn't seen any curves so we should have good pitches to launch over their infield. Amy, from Keith's and Courtney's Friday night team, Free Agents, will be making her EP debut. Plan A - Warmup at 5:00pm. We'll have the field to practice grounders and long flies.Plan C - Food and drinks with Plan B afterwards at the nearby Tilted Kilt, Half Moon or Dos Gringos. |

Game Recap: Power Outage, Architects at Fault
Oct 12th,'08 - 6 innings: Plan B 11, Empty Pitchers 9 For the second consecutive week, the team was short at least 3 of its regulars but this time the juice ran out even though the dugout was stocked with CapriSuns. One rough inning in the field by the Empty Pitchers was the difference as both teams otherwise played nearly error free ball. With the lack of errors, neither team could put together a big inning on offense. Power outage isn't completely correct: Jessica's and Courtney's bats perhaps had too much power as they crushed a number of pitches into the OF but Plan B came up with nifty nabs. Scott and Andrew batted well but Jamie's on-base streak ended at 18 at-bats, going 1-4 at the plate. Defensively, Amy made two 2-3 putouts from homeplate while Casie and Courtney hauled in some nice flies to the OF. Nothing flew too far in the OF, part of that may have been the absence of Isaac who just had his second son (congrats Nicole!). It was the drops by Jamie and Scott that contributed to Plan B's one big inning. As punishment, both Scott and Jamie performed 200 pushups each after the game. Check out their pecs at the upcoming game. What's it's really about - comraderie! After the game both teams headed to The Tilted Kilt for refreshing drinks and food. Check out the pics below and double points if you can find Ryan in the pics. Notables: Ted landed some recording studio time at the last minute - a worthy reason to miss a game since EP wholeheartedly supports the arts; the vast majority of the team are architects, Isaac being an exception: a civil engineer; Ashley is the last original female Plan B player, but don't be surprised to see others reemerge. Gone/Subs: Sarah (Casie); Jami (none); Ruthie (Amy), Ted (none) |

The Band-Aids have been dealing with roster issues as well but have continued to play well. Should both teams win their opening playoff game, this week will be a preview of the 2nd round. For the third consecutive week we'll be playing short 3 players but with a good supply of subs. Courtney will be in SF running her 1st half-marathon while Melissa will be visiting her sister as an aunt now! We'll be playing for the inaugural Band-Aid Pitcher Trophy. Let's get the first win engraved on the trophy... err written on a giant bandaid with a felt tip marker and slapped on the plastic pitcher. Band-Aid Breakdown: Arrive at 7:30pm for warm-up and stick around for a few minutes after for the trophy awarding. Is "awarding" an actual verb? "Rewarding" is often used as both an adjective and an adverb. |

Oct 19th,'08 - 5 innings: Band-Aids 17, Empty Pitchers 11 The Band-Aids continued their ownage of The Empty Pitchers. While all empires fall, the era of The Band-Aids continues. Our first round opponent will be Churchill's. Plan B, who started 0-4, won their final three games and snagged the #4 seed. They play Jet Action, an 0-7 team from another division, setting up a potential 2nd round rematch with The Band-Aids. If we win, next week we play the AZ Devil/FRRR winner at 7pm. The winner of that game will immediately play at 8pm for the championship, likely against the Band Aids. Offseason Scrimmages Oct 22nd - Three teams: Plan B, Free Agents (Courtney, Keith, Amy and Connie's team) and Victorious Secret (in Free Agents' Friday night league) have all expressed interest in double-header scrimmages this offseason. Basics - on offense: take your first pitch and use smart baserunning. Everyone should set a goal of each seeing 8-10 pitches this game. If you take your first pitch, swing at your second pitch and bat 4 times, you'll see at least 8 pitches. We've historically batted much better taking first pitches. Defensively, OF's keep the ball in front and hit cutoffs; IF's know before the pitch where the play is but don't force anything uncomfortable - go for the safest play. Only two teams have given up more than 7 runs to Churchill's: Massage Envy (15) and Empty Pitchers (16). When not at the plate, our team goal is keeping 'em from scoring 9 runs. That'll be our team goal for each of our playoff games. From our past game: #88, their catcher loves to grab and hand us our bats because the team has little faith throwing to her and it's her only action; their female at 3B is their best infielder; their pitcher is decent; they got only one ball past our OF; their SS has good range but a wild arm; overall this team has potential but they seem to doom themselves. Andrew and Jamie will both wear pants for the remaining games to eliminate any hesitance to slide. Churchills Chalk-up: 7:15pm -- light food and maybe one round of sodas at The Tilted Kilt before the game? Otherwise, warmup at 8:30pm at the field. |

Game Recap: Team Finds Gems at Pitcher's Mound and in Outfield
Oct 26th,'08 - 5 innings: Empty Pitchers 14, Churchills 4 With the amount of dirt Jason collected between pitches, he found 4 precious rocks and a gas pipeline. Ted made the catch of the season in LC with a running shoelace scoop. The catch of the season lasted just one inning. Andrew made the same catch while slipping on a slimy patch of reclamated water. Jason, Amy's husband and pitcher for Courtney's and Keith's Friday night team, made his Empty Pitcher debut in grand fashion. When Scott came down with non-hangover-like symptoms, Jamie called the backup pitcher on the playoff roster who offered to come even if he wouldn't pitch. Scott showed and coached but the softball gods denied him the power to play. Jason pitched out of numerous 3-1 counts, made several nice defensive plays and adequately filled Scott's spot at the top of the lineup with 4 hits and 3 runs. But it wasn't Jason, Andrew and Ted carrying the team. Melissa perfectly worked both C and 3B for an absent Sarah and recovering Ryan. Courtney ripped shots over the IF in all her at-bats and caught the only ball hit to LF. Jessica nearly turned a double play at 2B while she, Ruthie and Jami all easily swatted shots over the infield. Churchills led 2-1 after two innings and EP was staring at two outs in the 3rd when the rally started. Five batters scored and the next inning EP added 6 more. Churchills couldn't answer until Jamie took over at SS, but their two runs weren't enough. Jason's pitching and Andrew's catch stunted their rally and before EP could score their third run in the bottom of the 5th the game was called due to time. The team goal of holding the opponent under 9 runs was achieved. Aside from a couple bad throws to 1B, Churchills had little charitable momentum to build on. Meanwhile, our bats were too hot to handle when balls were placed on the ground after a record 8 pop-ups in the first three innings. Even though his second popup dropped safely in a vacant RC (Churchills played with only 9), Keith noticed Jamie was dropping his back shoulder - a primary cause of popups. Most batters didn't take the first pitch but it was hard to do when so many first pitches were good-looking strikes. Our baserunning errors continued only at 3B when we'd attempt to score with zero or one outs rather than letting the upcoming batter knock in an extra RBI. A number of basecoaches/runners have made that easy, adrenaline-induced error. We'll have it fixed by next week! Notables: EP's winning % increases with the number of dogs in the dugout; Churchill's OF made two great throws to home plate for outs, while their pitcher delivered low, consistent strikes; Churchills officially joins the list of EP's "fun, smilin' friendlies" after two games even though our favorite catcher missed the game; Jason pitched his best innings (the 3rd and 4th) when Ryan was catching, not a pretty female. Gone/Subs: Sarah (none); Scott (Jason) |

Playoff Schedule
6pm - Semifinal (#1) The Band Aids (16/10) (#4) Plan B (11/13) 7pm - Semifinal (#3) Arizona Devils (15/9) (#2) Empty Pitchers (13/13) 8pm - Championship Game Arizona Devils4-3 7pm - Home AWOL: Our semifinal game replays a 12-11 EP victory. AZ Devils seems to have hit their stride the past few games, mercy-ruling our friends, Final Round Ram Rod, in the first round. Notes from our previous game: AZ Devils feature a quick pitching machine with good control. Their SS has good range with a strong yet not always accurate arm. Just ask Melissa's leg. Offensively, a couple of their girls have pull and a couple guys have power to drive the ball. But their men spent the night popping the ball up shallow enough for our infield to record outs. AZ Devils has a guy with a belly and mustache who crushed one over the fence this past weekend. He'll need to be jammed inside with pitches. The rest of the team should hit catchable flies. Their girls are slow so if OF's quickly hit cutoffs, we should maintain easy forceouts. Should we win, we will immediately play the championship game after our game at 8pm against the Band-Aid/Plan B winner. Plan B's pitcher, Cory, crushed a RF homerun but can hit all directions while Noel of The Band-Aids should be played every pitch back at the fence. Final weekend fun - It all begins with the Band-Aids / Plan B rematch at 6pm. Last time Noel took out Lee at 3B. These teams purely hate each other. League director, Richard King, will be on-hand to ensure no fights break out! |

Game Recap: Last Inning Clutch Hitting Clogs Empty Pitcher Championship Hopes
Nov 2nd,'08 - 6 innings: GT Bombers 11, Empty Pitchers 9 Not much of a recap here as this is written 3 months after the game with little memory of what happened. In the first game, the Band-Aids ran up the score over Plan B. The field had no more offense to share with either the Empty Pitchers or GT Bombers for the first few innings. Empty Pitchers built a decent lead heading into the bottom inning and that's when the GT Bombers started dropping hits in every conceiveable gap. Game over. They continued the hitting in the game afterwards to beat the Band-Aids for the championship. |
